1) The procedure causes extreme pain 

Advanced dental technology has limited the amount of time that you suffer pain from the procedure (if any). 

2) A root canal procedure will make you sick. 

In fact, this treatment reduces the number of bacteria by extracting the root cause of tooth cavity formation. 

3) The procedure takes a long time.

However, root canals require two appointments, one to analyze the extent of the bacterial infection and a second appointment to go through with the root canal. Not too long of a process at all!
